Donna and the band left Nashville for their Saturday night concert in Tawas City, MI but sadly did not make it. They hit black ice on a bridge in the Indianapolis area around midnight on Friday the 20th of January. The van spun 180 degrees and the trailer detached from the van and flew across the median. Thankfully there were no other vehicles involved and no one was hurt. However, the trailer was totaled and Donna's Martin guitar was in pieces as was Bobby King's upright bass as the major instrument damage. They crammed everything from the trailer into the van and made it back to Nashville early on Saturday morning. Regrets to all the folks in Michigan who bought tickets to the show. Hopefully there will be a re-scheduling of the concert.
For the second time in the past few months, the popular roots music website No Depression has chosen to feature one of Donna's live video performances on their site. She was in very good company as the other videos chosen were by some of her musical favorites; Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton & Linda Ronstadt. Other featured videos were by The Byrds and The Parlor Soldiers.
It's the end of another year and journalists, bloggers, DJs and radio stations are beginning to post their favorite CD releases of 2011. Donna's CD is beginning to show up on a few lists already so we thought we would post what we are seeing so far.
