Donna Ulisse & Poor Mountain Boys play to packed house at Douglas Corner

They played a seventy-five minute set featuring songs from Donna's first release "When I Look Back" as well as from her new release "Walk This Mountain Down". A highlight of the evening was when Donna sang one of her favorite songs written by Carter Stanley, "Who Will Sing For Me" in a sparse arrangement with strong vocal harmonies.

New to the Poor Mountain Boys was Mike Sumner on mandolin who did an outstanding job along with Scott Neubert on dobro, acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies, Greg Davis on banjo and harmonies on "Who Will Sing For Me" and who also stepped out and did a fine job singing "Your Love Is Like A Flower". Rick Stanley played acoustic guitar and provided harmony vocals and got a great response when he sang "Katy Daly" and the country classic "Somewhere Between". Stanley is also a co-writer on several of the songs on Ulisse's albums. Upright bass player Bobby King anchored the sound with his tasteful bass playing and as always, was solid as a rock. Ulisse encored with the bluegrass classic "Think of What You've Done" to a crowd that didn't want to see the evening end.
