June found them playing once again at the beautifully restored Lincoln Theater in Marion, Virginia as they taped the PBS concert series "Song of the Mountains". Donna's friend Nancy Hagan went along and was kind enough to get some great photos of Donna and the band onstage and backstage. Also appearing that evening was The Chuck Wagon Gang who are legendary in the gospel world. The show will air in over 90 markets in late 2010 or early 2011.
Donna was also invited to perform on the WSM/Durango Boots stage during CMA Music Fest week here in Nashville. She and the band were introduced by WSM morning host Bill Cody and played a terrific thirty minute set for an enthusiastic crowd. The set was also broadcast live on WSM radio and WSMonline. After the show Donna signed autographs in the WSM booth and re-connected with fans who had been following her since her days on Atlantic Records.
In October of 2009 Donna played the Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival and was invited back to play their June festival IN Waldron, Arkansas. Sharing the lineup were Marty Raybon, Adam Steffey, Larry Stephenson and Marty Stuart to name a few. The following week they headed back to Donna's hometown area and played Donk's Theater in Mathews, Virginia to a full house.
Fourth of July weekend took Donna to one of the top festivals in the bluegrass world for the first time; Red, White and Bluegrass Festival in Morganton, NC and then on to a sold out show at the Uptown Coffee Cafe in Victoria, Virginia.
Thanks to all of you for buying tickets to the shows and helping spread the word about Donna's music and performances on facebook.
