During the initial meeting it was all about listening to songs. Donna had narrowed it down to just over sixty songs she had written or co-written for she and Keith to begin sifting through and see which songs would make a cohesive project, which ones excited him from a production standpoint.

Donna recently described the process in her New Year's newsletter: "I so love this part. This carving, whittling, honing, slashing...:(... and finally agreeing on the songs that we will go in and record SOON!!! Yes, there will be gnashing of teeth and stomping of feet, and some whining and pleading but Keith will be alright at the end of it all...lol. We always see eye to eye. Harmony on the project and through the whole recording is one of the gazillion reasons why Mr. Sewell and I work so well together. I can't wait to share all the steps with you."
